88 Broad St

After acquiring this property in 1889, J. M. High (whose estate helped found the High Museum) built his massive four-story brick and stone department store at this location. After later moving his business one block east the building was occupied by the McClure Ten Cent Co. and then F & W Grand Co. The old structure was demolished in 1950 for H.L. Green’s modern building.
